97 days away from kickoff and today we recognize Josh Thompson. Thompson was a defensive tackle for the Tigers from 2003-2007. After redshirting during the 2003 season, Thompson was a part of a playing rotation at nose guard in 2004. Thompson finished with four tackles against Mississippi State, including two for loss and was named the Coaches’ Defensive Player of the Week for that performance. The Statesboro, Georgia native played in 10 games in the 2005 season, but missed the Ball State and Western Kentucky games due to an ankle injury. Thompson totaled 44 tackles during the 2006 season, including six against Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl. He finished his career with 67 tackles in the 2007 season.
After leaving Auburn, Thompson signed as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams in 2008 and then signed with the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League in 2009.
