Only 37 short days until Auburn kickoff!
Today we celebrate a notable kicker and number 37 for the Auburn Tigers, John Vaughn.
In the 2006 season, Vaughn was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Year, and was a Lou Groza Award finalist. His 42 yard Cotton Bowl Classic field goal was his twentieth made out of twenty-four attempts, and made him the second Auburn kicker ever to complete twenty or more field goals in a single season.
Vaughn went undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft but signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans on April 30, 2007. He was released from the Titans after Tennessee’s 3rd Pre-season game, but was resigned on July 31st, 2008. Vaughn was later cut from the roster by the Titans to make room for another former Auburn kicker, Rob Bironas.
War Eagle, John!
