This summer here at ESPN AU we’re counting down the days until Auburn’s first game against Georgia Southern on September 2. During the countdown, each day we’re going to remember an Auburn football player who made us proud to say “War Eagle.”
Kicking off our countdown to that first game is former number 99, Tez Doolittle. Doolittle played for Auburn from 2003-2006. During the 2005 season under Coach Tuberville, he recorded seven tackles including two apiece versus Mississippi State, Ball State, and Western Kentucky. He also had a sack against Western Kentucky. In 2006, he finished with nine tackles including 1.5 for loss. He posted two tackles, including one for loss against Arkansas State and three tackles against Mississippi State. The defensive lineman grew up not far from Auburn in Opelika where he played both defensive tackle and fullback for Opelika High School. During his high school career, he helped lead Opelika to the 6A playoffs and earned an ASWA Super All-State and 6A All-State selection.
After leaving Auburn, Doolittle signed a deal with the Seattle Seahawks in 2009 but never played in the league. In 2011, he made his SIFL debut with the Columbus Lions after leaving the Arizona Rattlers in the Arena Football League.
