Auburn High Soundly Defeats Enterprise at Home 48-17

55ef520e1b85f.imageThe Auburn High Tigers got another key victory over region rival Enterprise Friday night at Duck-Samford Stadium in Auburn by a final score of 48-17. Zaire Haston got the scoring started for the Tigers in the first quarter on a 23 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. Enterprise then responded later in the first on a Trey Robinson four yard touchdown run to tie the score at 7-7. In the second quarter, Auburn Senior running back Garrett Morris broke off a 39 yard touchdown run to retake the lead 14-7. Later in the second, Auburn running back Jay Walker recorded a six yard touchdown run to push the Tigers’ lead to 21-7. Auburn scored again later in the second quarter on a Brooks Fuller eight yard touchdown pass to JaMarcus Knight, which made the score 28-7 at halftime.


The Tigers wasted no time after halftime, scoring again early in the third quarter on a Brooks Fuller quarterback plunge to make the score 35-7 Tigers. Later in the third Garrett Morris recorded his second touchdown of the night, this one for 18 yards to push Auburn’s lead to 42-7. Enterprise kicked a field goal to trim the lead to 42-10, but Auburn scored again in the fourth on a Griffin Speaks five yard touchdown quarterback sneak. With two seconds to go in the game, Enterprise wide receiver Chance Warren received a 15 yard touchdown pass to make the score 48-17.


small 51735278c580a.imageAuburn quarterback Brooks Fuller finished the game seven for nine with 135 passing yards. Garrett Morris finished with five rushes for 64 yards and two touchdowns, while Jay Walker recorded 11 rushes for 126 yards and a touchdown. Garrett Jones was Auburn’s leading receiver in the win, as he racked up three receptions for 57 yards. Enterprise quarterback Grant Thorton went 14 for 21 in the game with 135 passing yards and Enterprise running back Trey Robinson had 16 rushes for 52 yards. The Wildcats leading receiver was Chance Warren, who had six receptions for 60 yards.
